Cairnbaan Community Trust is delighted to announce that it has just been awarded £5,000 from the Nadara A’Chruach Wind Farm Community Fund. The money from the wind farm Community Fund will be used to make a short film, provisionally entitled We are Cairnbaan. It will focus on our village, past, present and future, through the eyes of its residents.
The film will be directed and produced by Joe Osborn, who is a fisherman and film maker living and working from Carsaig. Joe has already made two films locally, one on community owned land for the Tayvallich Initiative (https://vimeo.com/752942775).
The other is called It’ll Never Work and it’s the story of how Hans Unkle, a fisherman from Carsaig and his friends worked to make Hans’ fishing boat the first fully electrified fishing craft in the UK. You may have seen the films when they were shown to packed village halls over the last few months. A trailer for the second film is on YouTube at (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klkz6P7JT3g) and if you haven’t seen it already you can catch it at it at the Screen machine on its next visit to Lochgilphead on 28 July at 1730 https://www.screenmachine.co.uk/films/itll-never-work.
Joe is currently working on the structure for the film and will be in and around Cairnbaan over the coming weeks. Here’s his photo below so you’ll recognize him, just introduce yourself and he’ll tell you more.
We’ll be keeping you informed of developments as they happen and how you can be involved in this exciting project. Watch this Space!
